As the world has become even more fast paced and screen-dependent, there's growing evidence that for good mental health, humans need to spend time outdoors in nature.
Each year more therapists and psychologists have started to recommend that people get out and engage with nature, not just because it's "nice", but because the mental health benefits are powerful and undeniable. You might have heard the terms "Forest Bathing," or "Nature Therapy," to describe this approach.
How does Kenzai Nature work?
Kenzai Nature is a 4 week program, designed with psychologist and certified Nature Therapist Malia Hirshmann. Over the course of 28 days, you'll learn how to engage with nature with all your senses, maximizing the positive effects of spending time outdoors. Each week you’ll be guided through a collection of activities that have been clinically proven to enhance physical and mental well-being.
Kenzai Nature doesn't have workouts or nutrition components, but will ask you to spend time every day reading, reflecting, and completing outdoor tasks. (You’ll still have access to your Kenzai maintenance workouts and diets if you want to stay fit). It's an excellent palate cleanser between more intense programs, or as an extension to our mental wellness series like Kenzai Mind and Kenzai Happy.

Before signing up for Kenzai Nature, consider the following:
• You'll be asked to spend some time outdoors every day, preferably away from dense urban settings. If you're not able to do that consistently, you should wait until a better time before signing up.
• To get the benefits of this program requires real work. There will be reading, writing, and reflection throughout the week. Doing Kenzai Nature correctly will take 30-60 minutes a day. But they are a wonderfully well-spent 30-60 minutes!
• However, you DO NOT need to be a nature lover, enthusiastic hiker, or have access to deep wilderness to make use of this program. City parks and nearby nature will work just fine!
• This program isn’t designed to get a physical fitness result. Activities often involve walking slowly, standing, or sitting quietly. This isn’t a hiking course, it’s a mental well-being course, working with Nature to reconnect with your place in the world.
